TAWHEED

Introduction

Tawheed is the core and backbone of Islam. All of the Prophets were sent to their nations with the message of Tawheed yet many of us still don’t understand it. We say we know what Tawheed is, but do we really know? Do we understand how it reflects practically in our lives??
Some of the sections and videos listed here are basic and you may even feel they are too basic for you but before you make that judgement I am confident you will learn something from these short and simple lessons. Every Muslim must know the basics of Tawheed so starting at the very beginning is the best thing many of us can do in order to have a solid understanding of it.

Tawheed

We need to understand who Allah is and that He (subhana wa ta’ala) is the originator of the universe and all creatures. He is all-wise, all-powerful. No harm can touch a person unless he gives permission for it to happen and no remedy or medication or treatment has any effect except that He wills it. We therefore must understand that all of our acts of worship and supplications should be directed to Allah alone. All of this is Tawheed, it is the core and foundation of Islam. If we are not directing our worship to Allah and seeking His help then we are not following the way of His Messenger (sall Allahu alayhi wasallam) as this is the Message that he came to deliver.

Say: “Who is the Lord and Sustainer of the heavens and the earth?” Say: “(It is) Allah.” Say: “Do ye then take (for worship) protectors other than Him, such as have no power either for good or for harm to themselves?” Say: “Are the blind equal with those who see? Or the depths of darkness equal with light?” Or do they assign to Allah partners who have created (anything) as He has created, so that the creation seemed to them similar? Say: “Allah is the Creator of all things: He is the One, the Supreme and Irresistible.”
